I saw a couple of videos of this "Actroid" (as the makers are calling it). It looks like an updated version of the Disney Animatronic President Lincoln - excepts it's a Japanese woman, of course(!).
One implementation had the actoid in an informantion booth at an exposition show in Japan. In that setting, the actroid used voice recognition and some other smarts to give visitors directions around the exhibits. That appeared to be pretty cool.
Wow, if that were the case, and then they really created a almost real woman android, you won't be lonely anymore and you're imaginary friend's would lessen.

I'd still like to study under him. Any prof who makes robot chicks, regardless of his fashion sense, is cool in my book.
