bill will only leave as the chief software architect (cto for some). though steve ballmer retains his position as president and ceo of the company, he will still report to bill as the chairman company. ceo = shows on the tv, print, web; executes plans // chairman = still has the power to decide for the company's directions.
* chief s/w architect will be handed to the person behind lotus notes.
