Advertising and Branding in Social Virtual Worlds

Saw an interesting presentation on advertising and branding in social virtual worlds from yesterday's American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) conference.

What stood out to me was the emphasis on immersion and P2P models. I don't see that from local game publishers, most of whom are still trapped by Industrial Age top-down marketing ideas. I'd like to see local gaming enter the Participation Age.
