I play Guild Wars -- even bought the Collector's Edition in Singapore (Thanks to Jerry for pointing out how ridiculously overpriced it is in the Philippines.) -- so I'm glad to hear it's hit the one million sales mark in a mere five months.
Guild Wars keeps server costs low by cleverly instantiating portions of the gameworld whenever possible -- thereby leveraging P2P connections between players -- while keeping community portions persistent. Other MMORPG developers would do well to study this model. Kudos to NCsoft for providing high-quality gaming without server fees.
Perhaps gamevertising and virtual economies will someday make all gaming free. Then again, if the whole 'Net takes on the gaming metaphor David Wong predicts, all gaming would have to be free.

Blogger Salaries
(Via Steve) Punditry pays. Annual salaries of some bloggers:
Gawker's Jessica Coen: $30,000.
Poynter's Jim Romensko: $169,000.
Clearly, the blogger pay structure is still evolving.

Spam 'n' Screams
Just uploaded a video from email security provider CipherTrust for Infotech Philippines.
Just for kicks, I also uploaded a video of me and my friend Maries pulling 5G on Singapore's G-Max. Enjoy watching Maries debate physics and scream her lungs out.

Philippine-Made Blogsite Goes Free
(Via Janette) i.ph, a blogging service using Philippine-made blogging software Calliope, is now free.
Filipinos love to chat, and it shows in Calliope's design: the application easily integrates with several IM, VoIP, SMS, and social networking apps. I'm open to suggestions on what to put on my page, mike.i.ph.
Hey, Joel Disini, I have a suggestion: make Calliope accept RSS feeds as posts. That's what keeps my Yahoo! 360° page alive. You could even improve on their system by preserving links and images in the feed.
