RSS Screensaver

As you can tell from the subscribe buttons on my sidebar, I'm a big RSS fan. As such, I'm happy to hear from Steve Rubel that the new version of Mac OS X, Tiger, comes with an RSS screensaver.

The adoption of emerging technologies is often pushed forward by their incorporation into popular operating systems. I've heard it often said that Microsoft must take steps to excite customers; incorporating RSS-enabled features into Longhorn would be a step in the right direction.

Game College

Game developer Ranulf Goss reports that the De La Salle University will be implementing game development courses soon.

Let's hope other Philippine universities follow suit and get some game.

What Are You Looking At?

If I were to choose a word, then show you images related to that word, could you guess the word?

Now, what if I were Google?

That's the idea behind Guess-the-Google, a Flash game that'll tickle the link between the visual and verbal centers of your cerebrum. Click here to check it out!

The Virtual Murders

On April 21, 2005, five Filipino youth leaders were murdered at dawn, all in a span of ten minutes.

The National Bureau of Investigation is on the case. They'll never find the bodies, though -- because murders took place in cyberspace.

PhilGaming.com reports the alleged mass hack-delete of guild master accounts on the Philippine Ragnarok Online game service.

The story sounds like a good high-level whodunit: Corruption rumors! Corporate intrigue! Conspiracy theories! Gang wars! Tournament rivalries! Public outrage! Bereaved followers! Cries for justice!

How will the Philippines' first virtual murder mystery unfold? Stay tuned! ;)

Blogging for MBAs

Fordham's Graduate School of Business is now running a seven-week "Introduction to Business Blogging". Lecturer Charlie O’Donnell points out that the Michigan Business School is doing something similar.

Philippine business schools should have no problem finding faculty for this sort of thing; Filipino bloggers are a talkative lot. Since the Philippines is the SMS capital of the world, moblogging could warrant a whole separate course module. ;)
